Day 181

Welp, baby K had quite the dramatic afternoon. Poor nugget.

Yep. Real tears today.

My only guess is that she’s finally going to have some teeth pop through? I’m starting to see the little white lines on the bottom!

Our morning started off great and Kens was happy as could be. I coached a morning session while she played and we went grocery shopping.

Kensie enjoys diaper changes a little too much. Always has…πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

We came home and Kensie played some more while I meal prepped and then took her nap.

Then all hell broke loose.

Isn’t that the saddest sound? For the record, I promise I’m not an awful mom who just set her down to video her crying. This was about 20 minutes in after I tried literally everything to calm her down. Holding her didn’t help. Holding on her belly didn’t help. Diaper change? Nope. Mylicon and bicycle legs for gas? Also nope. Pacifier and rock incase she’s still tired…nada. Feed her? Helllll no. Sit down with toys? Worked for a split second then also a big fat NOPE.

She started to chew on Sophie then remembered she needed to keep wailing…

I’m still not sure what the meltdown was for. It lasted until we got in the car to go to the gym and she fell asleep. She hasn’t cried like that in almost 3 months.

Once we got to the gym I woke her up to feed her and she was back to her happy, normal self and chilled in her swing while I coached. Emily was awesome and came to play with her so I could workout afterward!! (Seriously have the greatest friends ever, I know!)

I had to coach late again so after I worked out I had Kens take a quick nap and fed her so daddy could bring her home.

The screaming makes these moments that much sweeter!

When I got home she went RIGHT to sleep like a little angel! At least the screaming wore her out I guess. Ha!

Maybe she will wake up with some teeth? Or maybe she just needed to lose her shit for a minute. We’ve all been there! πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Day 180

Welp, today Kensie has decided she will no longer nurse under a cover. She makes her little whine/yell noise, throws it off, looks up at me and smiles. So that’s super.

In other news, she was awesome today and I’m missing photos of the best parts!

“Hey y’all”

I spent some time trying to finish up Kensie’s playroom/my office this morning and she’s already loving it.

So is Lucy.
Kens was trying to put Ellie’s face in her mouth…

We started a 6 week challenge at the gym so I have to stay later some evenings now to coach it. Chris coaches late on Monday as well, so I tried a new set up for Kens and it was a complete success! She’s at an age where she loves toys and doesn’t want to be restrained in one spot. So, the swing doesn’t last long lately.
Look ma! I got feets!

Play pen to the rescue!

Why is she almost too long for this?!

Kens sat up and played with her toys and kept herself occupied for about 45 minutes. I was so proud!! (And relieved). She started to fuss right when Sam, Emily and Charlotte finished working out, so they came to the rescue!

As I was warming my class up I started to look around for Kensie…her, Sam, Emily and Char were all missing.

Shocker…K baby had a blowout! Haha!! So thankful for those ladies cleaning up K and putting clean clothes on her.

At the end of my class I held Kensie because she was being a fussy, tired little nug. I laid her on the floor next to me to show the class the upward dog stretch for their core and told K to do it with me…AND SHE DID IT!!!! I’m so sad I don’t have a video because it was the cutest thing ever. I’m going to give it another go and see if she does it again. If so, I’m going to put her on the coaching staff and have her start pulling some of the weight around here.  πŸ˜œ

Kens had a little meltdown before bed from some bad gas bubbles. A few tears and farts later…we have a sleeping beauty. Happy Monday!

Just makes me want to crawl in and snuggle right up!

Day 179: Kensie’s First Easter

Kensington had the best first Easter!!! We made her an Easter basket (don’t tell me she’s too young for it to matter – I do what I want!) and she loved pulling everything out of it this morning!

This face. 😍

Growing up we always got things to play with outside in our Easter baskets so I figured I’d carry on the tradition…I mean the “Easter Bunny” would carry on the tradition…so K’s all ready for swim lessons and summer days by the pool!

Aunt Ashley even got Kens a “first Easter” present…is this not the cutest bikini EVER?!

Anyways, Kens had to take a break from the basket diving to get ready for church. Then she went back to exploring!

Easter best!

This is code for “Kensie approves.”

Of course Kensie fell asleep RIGHT as we pulled up to church, so I kept her with us so she wasn’t just a cry baby for the girls in the nursery. It took some swinging and bouncing and a sore arm, but she napped through the sermon. Phew!

Happy Easter from the Halls!

After church we went to Easter Brunch at Two Chefs with Will and Ashley and her parents – the food was AMAZING (so were the unlimited mimosas). Kens agreed.

Paper = endless entertainment

What can I say? The girl likes to brunch.

She partied so hard that she wore herself out (thank you, Jesus).

Momming. It’s all about balance…

We had a perfect first Easter as a family of 3! Love making sweet memories with this little babe.

Day 178

It’s Easter Eve!! I know Kensie has no idea what’s going on…so I’ll just be excited for her.

Little Kensie Foo Foo – thanks for the outfit Amanda!

Kens was the perfect babe today! We spent the morning at the gym and then LOOK WHO I GOT TO TAKE A NAP IN HER CRIB!!

Just kidding. This only lasted about as long as it took to take this photo.

But, I’m thankful for it. I was exhausted and if she’d stayed in her crib I would have done productive things like finish the office…

Instead I got in a sweet 90 minute nap with this snuggle bug.

K cuddles are the best.

Plus, how can you care about a to do list when you wake up to this cuteness?

After our nap, Kensie got to wear her Easter onsie and we went out to Disney Springs for dinner with Aunt Ashley and Uncle Will!

Somehow Kens made it to 9:15 with no sleep and no tears. She kept dozing off during dinner but her FOMO kicked in and she stayed up for the whole shindig.

And for my mom fail of the day…I couldn’t find her pacifier at dinner so I assumed she threw it out of her seat in the car. Until we got back to leave…

I blame Will.

ο»Ώο»Ώο»ΏDay 177

Other than nap time, K was such a happy happy girl today!! She even belly laughed for a solid 3 minutes straight and it was the most adorable thing EVER. I missed video of it, but I got another that’s still pretty good. This morning I said “oogaly boogaly” to her and she started laughing. So I kept saying it. And she kept laughing. A few hours later, it still worked like a charm. πŸ˜‚

This morning she practiced her standing in her jumper. Kens doesn’t use it to actually jump, just to balance. I considered setting up her walker but I’m just not ready to encourage it. Haha!

She caught me creeping.

I spent part of the morning trying to organize the office/playroom so I set Kens up with a party corner on the couch and homegirl entertained herself for over an hour!!

You’re looking at a momming win.

I’ve also decided from now on I’m only buying Kensie toys with large tags since she likes that best anyways. She fell asleep with a tag from her blanket in her mouth last week and lately it’s her favorite part of her play mat.

Seriously K?

Once she was over the tag, Harper and Riley came over to play!!

Just a little girl talk
Proof Kensie loves bows?
I was trying to switch up Kensie’s routine and get her to nap in her crib instead of her chair…and this is how that went.

“Wahhh momma you’re so mean!”

The exact opposite of napping.

Ya win some, ya lose some…

Day 176

Kens had a fun filled day with very little sleep. She must have been excited that her sparkle wall in her play room got finished today! πŸ˜‰

See? Excitement.

Okay maybe it’s me that’s more excited. I am also excited about an amazing pumping discovery I made!! Who knew they made battery packs for these suckers???

Game. Changer.

We are going to Napa in May (without my Kensie babe πŸ˜”) and I have been stressing about how the heck I’m going to make this trip work while still breastfeeding.

Aside from pumping and storing to stock up for K while I’ll be gone, I also have to figure out how I am going to pump while flying since that long of a flight + airport time is way too long to go without. Next is bringing home the milk I pump on the trip. Boy have I learned a lot about airline rules this week.

It’s my understanding that the “no liquids over 3oz” rule doesn’t apply to breastmilk. So, that’s good news.

Finding the battery pack was a life saver as well. I spent my morning chatting with a flight attendant friend and calling airlines (with no luck) trying to figure out if there’s an outlet in the bathroom I could use on a plane. Oye.

Now I need something to store the milk in. One for what’s pumped on the plane and another for bringing home the storage bags filled during the trip. Help!! This is what I was looking at for the plane:

No clue what I’m going to use to get it all back, cold. If anyone has tips, tricks or cooler recommendations PLEASE share!!!

Okay, back to Kens.

Kensie got to meet a new puppy today! Not sure how so much cuteness fit into one photo.

Kensie and Luke – the cutest pup ever!

Emily hung with Kensie so Chris and I could workout this evening! She was the ultimate babysitter. She even got K to take a much needed nap while I was coaching!

Emmy FTW!

They played a whole lot of peek-a-boo and Kensie chewed on everything, of course. I took a video but the music was playing through my phone so it’s hard to hear how hard Kensie was cracking up.

I also got a video of Kensie mastering her “put her own pacifier back in” skill! She’s been hit or miss with it for quite a while now. Today in the car she was playing with a toy and I didn’t even realize her pacifier was in the seat with her. A few minutes later I look in the mirror and it’s in her mouth. This smart girl is growing way too fast. Slow down little one!

Day 175

Is my child serious right now?

Rough day, eh Kens?

Oh, the drama. I just went to check on her before I started this post and that’s what I found. Whatever works, K baby. You do you.

When Kensie woke up today I had high hopes her stuffiness would be better. She seemed to sleep well and there wasn’t snot all over her when she woke up. Then the coughs started. πŸ˜ͺ

At least I’m getting some sweet snuggles out of it!

I have the humidifier and peppermint oil diffusing in her room.  It seems to help her  breathe much better while she’s sleeping.

We made an impromptu visit to K’s Chiro today for an adjustment since it boosts your immune system!

She seems real bothered by it, huh?

Party at the chiro!

Dr. Christina did her normal adjustment and also did some relief on her sinuses. She did it to me last time a cold was going around and it kicked mine immediately!!! Plus it felt amazing to be able to BREATHE again.

Kensie insisted on holding onto Dr. Christina’s fingers as she did it. Haha!

We played some this afternoon and went to observe swim lessons! We’ve officially found a swim instructor for Kens and I am so excited for her to start!!

Little fish in the making.
Or ham? Definitely a ham.

This bow is still a littlllleee big but I got this Ruffle Butts outfit for Kensington while she was still in my belly and I was so happy she could fit in it today! In a bittersweet way, of course.

2 bows are better than 1!

Day 174

Guys! I found a solution to blowouts.

BOOM!!! Halter top for the win. If she’s sitting and it goes up her back, just wipe away. No need for a new outfit. Haha!!

But in all seriousness, K didn’t poop yesterday so I knew today was going to be a memorable one. This outfit was the way to go.

Plus – how freaking cute?!

Kensie had so much fun playing like a “big girl” today! She LOVES sitting up to play with her toys.

Or chew on her thumb…

K also got to spend sometime in the gorgeous weather today while I coached!

She took a nap for the first part of my workout then woke up in super crank mode.

The calm before the storm.

Kensington has her first full blown cold. πŸ˜ͺ She’s had the runny nose a few times but now we have the gross cough from the lungs to go with it. Today involved a lot of snot sucking, a peppermint rub on her chest, back and feet and I put her to bed with a peppermint essential oil diffusing in hopes she can breathe a little better. I used her humidifier the last 2 nights but I remembered the oil worked great when I was sick while pregnant so I figured we’d give it a go!

Working on her selfie skills.

Also, I read this post today that a friend of mine shared and I thought it was worth passing along: “Dear Mom: I needed you
In the day and age of having everything at our fingertips, quite literally, it can be difficult to be present. I’m not perfect and I fail often, but when K is looking at me or wants my attention, I do my best to stop what I’m doing and give it to her. Work can ALWAYS wait. These moments are already passing by way too quickly…

Day 173

Moms – specifically breastfeeding/pumping moms, past and present – serious question for you. Are you ALWAYS STARVING? Or is it just me? Have nothing to do with breastfeeding and I’ve just become a bottomless pit? I will eat dinner (I’m talking a full dinner. 8-10oz meat, veggies, sweet potato…) and 30 minutes later I’m starving and feel like I never ate. One night I ate 2 dinners about 45 minutes apart and was still hungry. 😳 Someone please tell me I am normal…

It’s going straight to the thighs.

K baby had such a great day getting completely spoiled by some of her favorite people!

Babysitters Club

Post WOD parties with K baby! The real reason they come to the gym.

Emily and Amanda both brought Kens some adorable Easter goodies today, too!

Thank you ladies!!! K can’t wait to rock this cuteness.

As I was warming up, I looked outside and they were teaching her to shake her butt. I really wish this had been a video and not a photo because it was hilarious and adorable. Kensie was LOVING it. Daddy is in so much trouble.

Speaking of videos, I do have one from this morning that cracks me up. I took it on Snapchat because my phone said it didn’t have room (like always) so it cuts off – but Kensie was fussing at Lucy because she couldn’t get to her. It’s probably because she knows Kensie grabs a fistful of hair and pulls the poor pup. πŸ˜‚ She hasn’t quite learned the concept of “gentle” yet…

Day 171-172

…and we have a WINNER! Ashley McGee was the closest with 227! Marissa was 2nd with 236. The answer is 230!! We’re almost to our 365. 😜

Ashley, let me know your color preference and your egg will ship this week!

Kensie had a busy, fun weekend – and so did mom and dad! On Saturday we went out to support a few of our athletes at a local competition!

Power Nappin
Kens loves to watch Megan workout! Especially when she gets to grab her hair! 😜

I turned around to see this as we were walking back to the car and almost had a heart attack, but obviously K was loving it!

Saturday was Parents Night Out! We got to enjoy a concert with some friends while B and Papa John watched Kens!

Yayyyyy for a fun night with B and Papa!

Notice that? Still same outfit. All day. No blowouts. Woohoo!

Date night!
Sunday was rough after a late night for mom and dad but luckily K baby was an angel baby all day and played, napped and stayed super happy while we “adulted”.

When you let Kensie play on her own…

K had quite the weekend and made sure to get her naps in accordingly.

That’s how I felt about my responsibilities today too, Kens.
K’s stuffy nose is back (I am hoping it’s just from the crazy weather changes and not a cold) so I busted out her humidifier for the first time tonight.

After her bath, K was super chatty and giggly. I set her in her crib to open up the humidifier and get it set up with every intention of picking her up when I was done to try to rock her to sleep. A few minutes later I realized it was awfully quiet. The little goober put herself right to sleep!!

To top it off we ended our weekend talking to our favorite – Aunt Shell!

It was a tiring but great weekend for K and her whole crew…just hoping the stuffy nose doesn’t wake Kens up tonight because this momma is ready for some rest.

Hope everyone had an awesome weekend and congrats again to Ashley! We’ll have another giveaway soon!!
