Day 237

…and so the fun begins. We have a crawler!

I’ve said it before, but it still blows my mind how one day a baby “can’t” do something and the next day they’re a pro at it. This morning she wanted that ball – but she didn’t crawl for it!

Solid attempt at drinking my coffee while it’s still hot.

Kensie came to the gym with me to workout this morning since we had some special plans this evening when I was done coaching.

Thanks for my outfit, Mrs. Sarah!

She spent the majority of my workout sleeping (hallelujah) and the other part rocking her car seat back and forth.

Look at this super cool toy, guys!

As I was coaching, she wanted the PVC I was using and got really close to crawling for it. I attempted to lure her…AND IT WORKED!

Of all the things to crawl for…

She crawled 3 more times at the gym and then we went for a surprise trip to visit her Great Gramps!!!

Kensie and her Great Grandpa!

My grandpa is in town from Wisconsin with a confirmation class so we took Kensie over to see him for a little while! It was her bedtime so she was a little cranky but she still showed off her new skill, played and even gave him a few giggles!

I guess I’ll spend tomorrow morning purchasing baby gates and I will probably start looking forward to these naps a whole lot more!

Still growing into that tongue. 😜

Day 236

GUESS WHAT I FOUND TONIGHT?? Two little white lines on KB’s bottom gums! I have no photos because we all know Kensie can’t keep her tongue in her mouth so that’s an almost impossible shot to get. πŸ˜‚

Kens was such a champ today! She woke up earlier than I prefer, but she made up for it by being so good all day as we were on the go.

Kensie got to meet someone super special to me today! We had lunch with one of my oldest and closest friends, Becki! It was the first time she’s met K and thinking back on all the moments we’ve shared together growing up it was one of those “whoa, I have a kid” revelations. You know, the ones where you realize you’re actually a grown up? (Someone please tell me you have those too…)

Kensie really liked fake eating the apple.

It was also the first time I’ve fed Kensie baby food in public! We ended up with a slight mess on her romper but it went better than I expected. She enjoyed it for a little while but it wasn’t enough to completely trick her from wanting everything that WASN’T hers.

After lunch Kens and I did a little shopping! She already has great taste. πŸ˜‰

K loves eating shoes. Thank God these were clean. My child is extremely embarrassing at times. πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚

This afternoon we got to the gym early and KB got to hang out with dad!! She loves “helping” him work.

Telling daddy ALL about it

Each time he typed she had her “serious face” on. πŸ˜‚

Today was the one year anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub shooting. Our gym did an awesome workout in honor of the victims.

Starbucks gave out flowers today for Peace on #OrlandoUnitedDay

While I can’t control the World that Kensie will grow up in, I hope she’ll always see the brighter side of it – like a group of people coming together to do something in remembrance and small acts of kindness like a simple flower!

Megan watched Kens for me so I could get through the WOD and as I was finishing up, I looked over to this adorable view.

She OUT

K currently looks very similar to that – just in her crib. 4 nights in a row going down without a peep. Score!!!

Day 234 & 235

Kensie Brooke had such a fun weekend OUT of the house after our long week of being cooped up and recovering!

Saturday morning we were at the gym for a few hours and KB couldn’t hang.

OUT.
But it was a good thing she rested up because she partied hard the rest of the day!

Happy housewarming Aunt Emmy!!!
K loves party cups

Kensie skipped over her late afternoon nap, and other than the 30ish minutes she spent fighting it (per usual, our little FOMO girl)…she was so happy and had a blast at Emily and Carolyn’s housewarming/graduation party! She got to dance and even made new friends.

Kensie kissed his face πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
Andres was determined to make her happy as she fought her nap.
Before we left Kens spent some QT with her favorite puppy. She got awfully quiet in the playroom and I came in to find this cuteness.

BFF

I would also like for everyone to know that not only are baby shoes pointless, they’re also impossible. I’m all about adding them for the cute factor but these stupid sandals took me about 20 minutes to get on her and whoever thought making strappy sandals that velcro up the back for a baby who cannot meanuver their own foot into them should be fired.

Thigh game strong, KB!

Sunday my little fashionista rocked what is arguably one of the best bows ever made.

The bigger the bow, the closer to Jesus.

Side note: those shoes only took about 4 minutes. Setting records over here, folks.

Kensie had a blast playing in the church nursery and then we spent the day brunching and shopping in Winter Park! K’s outfit was quite the hit. I guess that bow is a little hard to miss. πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚

We were very important recliner testers today!
Best part of the weekend? Kensie went STRAIGHT TO BED 3 NIGHTS IN A ROW!!

Usually after K eats she’s wide awake, talks and wants to play. This weekend I would feed her, burp her and we’d walk to her crib; I give her a pacifier and she lays her head on me and goes straight to sleep before I even set her down. It’s like a dream!

I’ll admit I usually stand there and hold her for a few minutes anyways because I miss my little snuggler at night. Now that she rolls all over the place she sleeps much better in her crib than in bed with us. πŸ˜ͺ I was not ready for those days to come to an end so quickly.

KB is already growing up way too quickly for this mama!!!

Day 233

This is how Kensie felt about having her bow photo taken today.

Not a fan of the flash.

K was still super cranky this morning but we had a much better afternoon! She fought her morning nap and basically had a repeat of yesterday’s “nothing makes me happy attitude”. Still no teeth in sight.

Before lunch I decided K needed a little retail therapy and it worked like a charm. πŸ˜‰ We got back home and had lunch, played and she went down for her afternoon nap without a peep! I even got some giggles out of her!

Kensie was much better at the gym this afternoon but never took her second nap. She dozed off the minute I put her in the car to go home and I thought for sure I’d end up with the typical over tired crying once I bathed her and went to put her in bed.

Wrong. So wrong. (Thankfully)

K took her bath, ate, burped and immediately face planted onto my shoulder and started snoring. I think she officially set a record for the fastest time she’s ever fallen asleep.

And for my favorite photo of the day…

Except herself, when she crawls backward into the corner. πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Day 232

Well if the stomach bug didn’t completely wear me out, this child decided to finish off the job! Kensie spent her day in Crank town USA.

“Mom this is the worst day ever!”

Please don’t be fooled. This is her “I don’t want to eat or play or sleep or be held or be sat down” face. And once you look at her she pulls a fast one on you.

“Oh look! Squirrel!” (Lucy walked up…)

We had a few good moments but they were sandwiched with drama. K was loving her lunch…

Until she wasn’t. On the bright side – she LOVES pouches! K likes that she can put them in her mouth all by herself; however she also turns them upside down and pours all of the food out. πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Kensie was pretty content at the gym in the morning. I can’t say the same for the afternoon. At least we got a quick workout in that she enjoyed.

After the gym I went to see Finding Neverland with Ashley for her birthday so dad got the night shift. Boy did she make him work for it. Kensie capped off the day with a full on meltdown before she finally took her bottle and went to bed. πŸ˜ͺ

Not sure if she’s not feeling well, going stir crazy because we have been off our routine, teething, or just having a moment – but this momma (and dad) is ready for it to pass!

Good thing you’re so dang cute, KB!

Day 231

Welp, the plague has officially worked its way through the Hall house…and has emerged out onto everyone else. πŸ˜”

Luckily, other than being cranky and sleepy today, K dodged it. I’m convinced it’s the magic of breastfeeding. After being up most of the night with Chris being sick, we all spent the day in our PJs, washing everything in sight and taking extra long naps.

My little crank

Kensie was pretty short tempered this morning but she got better as the day went on. She did seem extra happy about daddy being home! They got some one-on-one time while I coached this afternoon and I came home to a super smiley baby!

I think we were both going a little crazy being cooped up in the house the last 2 days so K got dressed and we took the pups on a walk for some fresh air. Kensie had a HUGE smile on her face the entire time!

Unfortunately that smile left when I wanted to take her photo. She had no interest in posing for me today. πŸ™„

And there goes the bow…

Hoping for a healthy rest of the week and that all of our sweet friends kick this bug quickly, too!

Mom, stop.

Day 230

I officially earned my mom card today. Momming is the one job you can’t “call in sick” for and damn did I wish I could.

I only got one photo of K baby today while we played this morning before I came down with the plague.

I got a Snapchat video, too.

When I headed in to coach this morning my stomach felt a little weazy but not too awful. By the time I got home, I spent the better part of my day hovered over a toilet.

Kensie was an angel baby today, considering. It also helped that I have the most amazing friends that went out of their way to help me today.

Sam Sam came over with pepto, Sprite and crackers and fed Kens lunch and hung with her for a little.

Shortly after Sam showed up the doorbell rang – a dude named Stephen showed up with all of this:

Michelle found a way to get it sent to me and make me feel better all the way from freaking Afghanistan!!!

Then, this afternoon Andrea took over my class and Ashley came by to help with K but when she got here we were both passed out napping. πŸ™ˆ

Let’s just say it was a longgg day of waiting for Chris to get home and take K so I could relax…and Kensie seemed pretty excited about her extra daddy time tonight!

To all my awesome friends that checked in and offered to come help me – you’re freaking amazing and it means a lot to me to have such a great group of people in my life! Being sick wth a baby is a whole new adventure and it surely takes a village.

Well, going on 45 minutes of keeping down 3 sips of Sprite so here’s to what’s sure to be a fantastic night…🀒

Day 229

Ohhh Kensie Brooke. My sweet little sleepy head.

I’m covering some morning classes this week and had to be at the gym early so Chris could head into work. This child has woken up by 6:30am the last 3-4 days. Today when I actually needed her up? Of course she’s sleeping harder than she’s slept in a month.

I tried to wake her. Nothing. Picked her up. She snored on my shoulder.

Luckily she was a happy girl when she woke up in her car seat. It took a little creativity, but she was pretty content while I got some things done.

Thank God for smart phones since I couldn’t work on my computer…πŸ™„

This afternoon K had a TON of fun at the gym. She had so many friends and she was loving life!

Giggles for dayssss

Free babysitting FTW!

Kensie was SO tired around 5p but even though she gave me and daddy sweet snuggles and pretended like she was going to pass out – it never happened. I hosted Bachelorette night so I was hoping KB would cooperate and go to bed even though she’s usually super cranky without a nap.

I got her a sound machine today to see if it would help her fall asleep alone; I’m not sure that it worked for that but it was a life saver in drowning out the noise from us talking the whole time!

Considering her extrmely short and nonexistent naps today, Kens went to bed pretty easily! I haven’t let her completely “cry it out” but I’ve learned her “fuss” vs her “cry” and while it feels like she’s fussing forever, after about 60-90 seconds she goes one way or the other. Either full blown meltdown or silence while she plays with something in her crib and falls asleep.

Lucky for me K was too tired to cry so the only casualty was the cupcakes I bought. Can’t win ’em all…

Awesome, Jenn.

I mentioned her backwards crawl the other day…and today I got you guys a video of what happens when Kensie crawls the wrong way.

Wrong way girlfriend.

I’m excited for her to learn but I am really enjoying my last few days of her not being able to go too far from where I set her! Why do they have to grow SO FAST? 😰

Day 227-228

KB had such an awesome, eventful weekend! She took her first crawl step FORWARD (she crawls backwards πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ), talked literally ALL weekend, and got to try a few fun, new things!  On Saturday we drove to Jacksonville to celebrate Jake’s first birthday! We also discovered she loves kissing other babies…

“Please Jake! Just love me!” πŸ˜‚

She went in for the kill anyway

If your child gets close to K, watch out. She grabs their face and gives a big, open mouthed smooch. πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ

At least she’s a lover?

Kensie had so much fun playing with ALL the kids and was so good for the whole party! No fussing or crying or begging to be held for 3. Whole. Hours!!

It was a baseball themed party so Kensie made sure her outfit was appropriate. πŸ˜‰

And Bows of Kensington had the honor of making the party shirts, too!!

After the party we met one of my best friends from home for dinner and Kensie had teething wafers for the first time!! She LOVED them and it was nice to give her something to eat to occupy her for a while so I could get a bite of my own food in my mouth without her trying to grab it.

A friend of mine recommended these and they’re a hit in K’s book!

Kensie was an angel and slept on the car ride both ways! Phew!!

Sunday K continued her baby kissing at church in the nursery. Let’s hope it’s just a phase…

After church of course we brunched! Kens had fun sitting in the booth like a big girl…and more fun sitting on the table playing with coasters.

I picked up some squeeze pouches (I don’t know what they’re called) of food for “on the go” days and wanted to see if Kensie would eat out of them since she’s only ever been spoon fed.

The answer is yes, yes she will. K LOVED eating from the pouch! She needed a little help squeezing since she kept trying to suck it, but she was a fan!

I bought these pouches that I can put her homemade food in – so I’m glad she loves them!

This weekend flew by WAY too fast after last weekend being so long. Here’s to another night of hoping Kensie starts sleeping though the night. (I’ll just keep hoping for the next 8 years. Eventually it’ll happen, right?) 😜

Day 226

Kensie had a LOT to say today.

I’m sure somewhere in her rambling she said “Happy National Donut Day!”

Of course she had a bow for the occasion.

Kensie took the BEST long morning nap for me! She woke up early so she had a little meltdown before naptime and only wanted to sleep  in mama’s arms. Those days are quickly fading so I soaked it all in. I must still have the mama magic because instead of her usual 45 minute nap she was out for 2 hours!! #win

Caroline saved the day and came over to watch Kens so Chris and I could go to dinner with some friends baby free! K was passed out by 6:30 which is the earliest she’s ever gone to bed. The trade off was that she woke up at 9 and worked the tears hard…then I got this photo at 10:30:

Spoiled. Rotten.

K is going to be that kid in school that’s really good at tricking the substitute teacher into letting her do whatever she wants. πŸ˜‚πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
