Day 21: Fussing and Pumping

We got a special gift in the mail today: Kensie’s hospital blanket bunny!

You mail them your hospital blanket and they sew it into a bunny and embroider the baby’s name and birthday!

The lady that makes them is so responsive and lets you know when she receives the blanket and is sending it back. She’s currently donating the proceeds to help her daughter pay for cancer treatments. She was so sweet and she did an amazing job creating a keepsake for Kensington.

Now for today in mom life…Kensie was awake and pretty fussy most of the day- which was a big change from her sleeping all day yesterday! I’m also trying to figure out how to pump and still feed her so we can store some milk for when she has a baby sitter. The struggle is real! I feel like the second I can pump she decides she wants to eat again and the cycle doesn’t end so there’s never extra! I’m sure we will figure it out soon. We have 2 bags stored out of our 5 attempts, so I’ll take that as a small victory for now. (The other times I ended up having to feed her what I just pumped.)

Today was one of my best friend’s birthdays and she got Kensie this adorable outfit, so we wore it in honor of the big day! The gold and pink bow that it came with was too big – so we improvised!

Happy Birthday, Aunt Keelin!

Overall it was a pretty rough day in motherhood. Even the normal car ride wouldn’t settle her down. But then she finally relaxes and snuggles from this peanut make everything better….and it’s really hard to set her down!

3 weeks today, and she loves being on her belly!

Day 20: Election Day

This morning Kensie and I got up early so we could go vote with Chris before he went to work. I’ve always done absentee ballots since I was still registered at my parents house – so I was excited to go in person this year!

She had to dress for the occasion.
Family Voting!

Then Kensie got to spend some time with her baby BFF, miss Harper!

Milk wasted. Such party animals.

Kensie, 3wks – Harper, 3mo

We had quite the busy day and KB took a LOT of naps. I was pretty sure I was in for a sleepless night – but so far, so good!!! (Thinking it’s a growth spurt..or just a gift from God. Either way, I’ll take it!)

Day 19: Daddy’s Home!

Kensie had a relaxing day at home after a busy weekend! She’s even starting to like her mamaroo which I am very thankful for.

We went for a walk to check the mail and the Kanagroo sweatshirt we ordered came in, so of course we had to try it out! For the record, I only purchased this because I thought it was hilarious. (It doesn’t do a great job of actually holding her up.)

Tonight Chris got to spend extra time with Kensie! She loves staring at her daddy. She had her first bedtime bottle tonight, too, so he could feed her!

Day 18: Shopping and Photos!

We were lucky enough to still have Grandma with us for most of the day! Kensie has a diaper rash so the doctor said to soak her in warm water and baking soda…luckily, she loves it! She fell asleep both times. πŸ˜‚

…bedtime?

Grandma was SUPER excited to dress Kensie in Packers gear for Sunday football! (She’s from Wisconsin and Kensie’s Great Grandpa and Aunts all live up there.)

Go, Pack, Go!

We planned on going to the Lake Eola Farmer’s Market – but quickly learned there was a gigantic fall festival downtown instead! So thankful for the gorgeous weather today and we mayyyyy have bought K even more bows. (The first step is admitting you have a problem…)

And this was only 1 of 4 streets.

Stroller walks always put her to sleep!

Note: The garnet and gold bow is for daddy’s Redskins. Not FSU! 😜

This afternoon we got the link to preview some of Kensie’s newborn photos! I am in LOVE with every single one of them!!! If anyone is looking for a photographer in the Orlando area – Briana Lugo is absolutely amazing!

Day 17: Grandma’s Here!

Daddy is out of town for the weekend so Grandma came down to help take care of Kensie!

We went for a morning walk with the dogs and then to the Craft Fair in Avalon.

Craft Fair with Grandma!

Of course we got new BOWS! πŸŽ€

This evening we had Friendsgiving. Everything was #NoSugarNovember approved!

Paleo Thanksgiving for the win!!! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

We even had sugar free dessert!

Kensie was so good all evening. Miss alert stayed awake so she could look around and not miss anything…and she shared lots of snuggles!

Thanks for all the yummy food Aunt Ashley!

Football with Uncle Will!

First Annual Friendsgiving! πŸ¦ƒ Missing Chris and Char!

Day 16: ergobaby

We got the best gift in the mail yesterday from Kensie’s Great Gramps!

We took the dogs on a walk and then we cleaned the whole house! She loved it. She stared quietly for a while and finally fell asleep. Whoever invented this thing, God Bless you.

Morning walk with all 3 of the Nuggets!

Kensie loves the sound of the vacuum…she’s definitely mine. #OCD

This afternoon we had to take Aunt Shell to pick her car up, so we had a girls date beforehand!

Lunch date at Zoe’s Kitchen! πŸ‘―πŸ‘ΆπŸ»
Challenge approved! #NoSugarNovember

Kensie even hung out in her mamaroo this morning while I ate without crying! Also, she slept 8 hours last night and is back to napping today so I am one thankful momma! (knock on wood…)

Oh hey there, snuggle bug!

Day 15: Recovery

Today has been quite the adventure. Other than a quick morning nap, this nugget stayed awake almost all day. Holy growth spurt!

Thanks for letting me eat breakfast, Mamaroo. You the real MVP.

I decided to be brave this morning and take Kensie and the dogs for a walk…it went surprisingly well and we had no catastrophies or lost puppies. πŸ˜…

Jack loves to check on Kensie!
Post-walk power naps. Kensie is faking it…

Before Kensie was born, I posted a few blogs on CrossFit and pregnancy. I figured now was a perfect time to update everyone on the “aftermath”.

As I have said in my previous posts, I understand that there may be medical or physical reasons a doctor will tell someone who is pregnant not to exercise; however, if you can – DO IT!!!

I credit my ability to get through Kensie’s LONG labor and the quick healing process I have had to exercise and proper nutrition while pregnant! For all those who think CrossFit is dangerous while pregnant, I hope I can be a strong example of why it’s not. Just listen to your body. It’s smarter than you think!

I did CrossFit up until the day before I went into labor. (40 weeks and 5 days!) Kensie was born with zero health issues and my recovery has been quick and easy.

They told me the swelling from the fluids takes 2 weeks to go down – mine was gone in about 4 days. I was 7lb under my prepregnancy weight (I lost some muscle, too) and back in my normal clothes by one week postpartum.

2 weeks postpartum

I’m looking forward to getting back in the gym to tone up again in a few weeks, but I am so thankful for a healthy pregnancy, a now healthy baby and CrossFit!

Kensie says she loves CrossFit, too!

She was flexing hard πŸ’ͺ🏼

Day 14: 2 Weeks Old!Β

This little babe is already 2 weeks old today! She slept like a champ all night and even let me take a shower this morning as she cuddled with her boppy!

She loves to sleep on her side!

We ran some errands and then I got some work done at Starbucks while Kensie stared around/napped in the nice weather!

Strollers = Magic sleeping machines

She’s starting to fit into her newborn clothing pretty well and I think she’s hitting that 2 week growth spurt right on target because miss thing is super fussy tonight and is only happy when she’s being held. Good thing she’s so damn cute!

Rocking her Ruffle Butts!

Day 13: No Sugar November

Today kicked off the 21 day challenge: No Sugar November! Kensie got some sweet time with B this morning (grandma) while I prepped some food for the week!

Kensie was a little snuggle bug today and didn’t let me get much work done…but that’s okay. Her cuddles are totally worth it!

If she wasn’t snuggling, she was ready to party! Every time I set her down, she would wake up and turn into a wiggle worm.

In other news, I finally found headbands that fit her tiny head! She picked this one out herself. πŸ˜‰

Day 12: Happy HALLoween! πŸŽƒ

Today was a big day for Kensington! I had to get some work done so she went to her gym for the first time.

KB’s first time at CFEO!
And tonight was her very first Halloween. She didn’t trick-or-treat obviously, but she dressed up and helped us pass out candy! She stepped up her bow game to a whole new level too. 😏
Kensington was the world’s most adorable latte for her first Halloween!
Chris, Kensie, Bows and Starbucks all in one photo?! #perfection
Love my sweet Kensie a whole latte!!! πŸ’•
