Day 15: Recovery

Today has been quite the adventure. Other than a quick morning nap, this nugget stayed awake almost all day. Holy growth spurt!

Thanks for letting me eat breakfast, Mamaroo. You the real MVP.

I decided to be brave this morning and take Kensie and the dogs for a walk…it went surprisingly well and we had no catastrophies or lost puppies. πŸ˜…

Jack loves to check on Kensie!
Post-walk power naps. Kensie is faking it…

Before Kensie was born, I posted a few blogs on CrossFit and pregnancy. I figured now was a perfect time to update everyone on the “aftermath”.

As I have said in my previous posts, I understand that there may be medical or physical reasons a doctor will tell someone who is pregnant not to exercise; however, if you can – DO IT!!!

I credit my ability to get through Kensie’s LONG labor and the quick healing process I have had to exercise and proper nutrition while pregnant! For all those who think CrossFit is dangerous while pregnant, I hope I can be a strong example of why it’s not. Just listen to your body. It’s smarter than you think!

I did CrossFit up until the day before I went into labor. (40 weeks and 5 days!) Kensie was born with zero health issues and my recovery has been quick and easy.

They told me the swelling from the fluids takes 2 weeks to go down – mine was gone in about 4 days. I was 7lb under my prepregnancy weight (I lost some muscle, too) and back in my normal clothes by one week postpartum.

2 weeks postpartum

I’m looking forward to getting back in the gym to tone up again in a few weeks, but I am so thankful for a healthy pregnancy, a now healthy baby and CrossFit!

Kensie says she loves CrossFit, too!

She was flexing hard πŸ’ͺ🏼
