Little miss Elle is 12 weeks today!!! I guess a decent amount has changed in the last week… one being that she can no longer be left unsupervised.
Homegirl was passed out and I went to shower. She was silent when I got out so I assumed she was still asleep and proceeded to get ready. Then, I walked out to this…
Ha!!! She was kicking her legs up and down and about flipped off the couch. π (She didn’t…even though I took a photo before rescuing her.)
I seriously don’t know how we got so lucky with such an angel baby…but it makes me terrified to have another. It’s sure to be the terror of the group. π³
L is so calm and content and LOVES to smile and squeak! placeholder://
She has 2 cries: one when she’s hungry and one when she’s overtired. You can tell the difference because her being tired is the only time she’ll accept a pacifier. She hangs and chats and will put herself to sleep as long as she’s cozy enough.
Leighton also loves the TV and it just may be how we get her to roll from her back to her front. π
As an update on her name, I’ve been calling her “Leighton love” or “chunk chunk”…hopefully the latter fades before she’s in high school.

We’ve still been making our routine weekly visits to the Chiro and I think it plays a huge role in how content L is and how great she sleeps!! (Thank ya Jesus!!!) We really haven’t experienced the “4th trimester” madness like we did with K! (Kensie didn’t start at Chiro until she was 2 months old and screaming her brains out consistently.)

As for K…ohhh lawdy. She’s K. π
The thought of updating you guys on her entire last week is about as exhausting as her energy levels.
Her newest favorite activity request is painting and y’all know her love for Elsa has not faded.

This is Kensie’s Elsa balloon.
This is Kensie crying because her balloon got popped by our fan.
Her love was taken to a whole new level because she was invited to an Elsa birthday party and the “real” Elsa came!!!
Every morning since, Kensie has discussed how Elsa is coming over to play. She’s also been requesting that I invite Sven, Olaf and Christoph. π€¦πΌββοΈπ She even painted them all an individual picture to give them. Now that she thinks they’re real people, the questions won’t end. I’m running out of excuses as to why they can’t come play with her every day. LOL!!! She’s going to be severely disappointed at her birthday party when a reindeer and snowman don’t come through the front door. Hahahahah! π€·πΌββοΈ

Kensie is still loving gymnastics, gets super excited to go, AND participates…so we officially quit dance. I won’t lie, I’m relieved. I thought she’d LOVE dance and I wasn’t cut out to be a dance mom. π hahah!!

K becomes a better big sis by the day and has the funnest imagination. She gets so excited when L wakes up (or when she WAKES her up π) and loves when L smiles or babbles. Kens will say “mommy! She’s talking to me!!! I’m gonna give her a hug. I kiss her! Awww seeesssterrr!!!” …and my heart melts.
As far as postpartum at 12 weeks, I’m slowly getting back into my fitness groove. Workouts have been such a mental test for me. Of course they’re physical as well and I’m working to build my strength and stamina back; however, for so long I scaled and modified that getting back the mindset of βkeep going. Nothing is wrong, youβre just giving upβ has been harder than upping the weights!
We did a 35:00 workout last week and, WOOF. I wanted to quit SO badly.
I moved slowly.
I took way longer breaks than I ever do.
I kept giving myself reasons I should probably stop after “x” amount of rounds or 25 or 30 min in…
BUT, I realized it was the scaling mentality I put myself in from being pregnant and that I had no reason to stop other than being a quitter. So, I didnβt quit. And, that was my mom win for the week!!!
You can just enjoy Kensie’s gym craziness of showing her muscles πͺπΌ and shaking her butt π, because I rarely remember to take any sort of photos or videos of my workouts. π
(And we have the most amazing people that spoil the mess out of K and play with her at the gym..of course her Emmy is always one of them! β€οΈ)
