Holy. WIGGLE WORM. Safe to say Kensie’s 3rd flight didn’t go as smooth as the first 2. (But I did actually FREEZE the ice packs this time…so no drama at security!)
A storm hit right before take off so we had to wait on the runway..by the time we took off we had been sitting on the plane for an hour.
The engine was all KB needed. She did some weird whine, flail, throw her body move and went to sleep face down in my lap with her butt in the air. Chris tried to take a photo but apparently it didn’t save. πͺ
I did learn a valuable Southwest lesson today…always sit by the window and the aisle. I sat by Chris thinking no one would come sit by a baby. Who does that?
Well, the dude that sat by us does. That’s who. There were plenty of other seats open but they were in the middle of people. I wanted to ask him to move because we were crammed enough as it was, but he chose his fate. Kensie tried to take his pillow and phone at least 4 times and smacked his arm a solid 6. π€·πΌββοΈ
I had an epic mom fail and tried to move Kensie so I could reach my wallet because…beer. (Chris was asleep). Never. Again. Kens woke up, wanted to eat, then didn’t go back to sleep the rest of the flight. Somehow KB made it all the way to bedtime with only a 10 minute nap.
Considering the circumstances, she did great. It helped that we had extremely kind people around us and they all commented that she was “so well behaved”. I felt like she fussed a lot and wouldn’t stop moving…but I guess that’s pretty impressive for a 9 month old stuck in 12 square feet for 4 hours.
The good news? WE MADE IT! We came to Wisconsin to visit family and go to the CrossFit Games! They conveniently moved them to Madison this year so it’s a win win for us!
