Mommas – help!!! How do you start feeding your babe “table” food? I’ve got conflicting info and I’m not sure what I want to do next.
I’ve heard the “food before one is just for fun” phrase about a zillion times. At Kensie’s 6 month appointment our doctor said we can start once a day but it’s just to introduce taste and texture and told us to start with mashed avocado and rotate between orange and green foods.
She also gave us this chart:
Well – this chart has a lot more food on it than the 1-2oz of purรฉed veggies K eats.
Ped also said to follow it up with breast since she isn’t eating enough for it to fill her up; however, Kensie won’t feed after she eats solids for at least 90 minutes – so she’s obviously getting something out of it.
I don’t want to introduce more food because I feel like she won’t drink enough milk, but I also don’t want her to get to one and not know how to chew or be familiar with table foods.
SO – experiences? Suggestions?
On to Kensie. She has a favorite food…it’s zuchinni! Haha K always makes a weird face at the first bite of everything. Today I tried to give her the last jar I had and it was “Oatmeal Peach Banana” and she made the worst faces and started spitting it at me. ๐ I gave her her zuchinni and her face lit up and she kept wanting more!! Go Kens!!
We had a MUCH better day today. K was so happy and sweet! She was the best at the gym this morning while I worked out and coached. She played the whole time and lots of clapping was involved!
Before our afternoon gym session we went over to Casey’s for a little bit and Kens got to show off all her new skills while Harper (Casey’s baby) napped.
KB was such a good sport when we got back to the gym and got to spend some extra time with Daddy tonight!
I coached a little later than usual so Chris took Kensie home and she went right to bed! WAHOO!!!
Other than that – we successfully made it through one more day without Kensie completely starting to crawl. ๐
