Leighton and I are finding our groove as I added working out back into my schedule this week.
She’s had her fussy moments, but so far, so good! Hopefully she starts to let the loud music and smell of sweat soothe her like it did for Kensie. π
The hardest part about coming back from the time off and you know, birthing a kid, is truly listening to my body and giving it time to heal even when mentally I’m trying to “go go go!”
My internal tissues are still soft and loose and while it feels like more of a mental battle than a physical one, I know my body will thank me in the long run!

I modified Wednesday’s workout to a lower volume version:
Kelly – 5 rounds of:
400m run
30 box jumps
30 wallballs
I did 200m run, 15 step ups and 15 wallballs instead. This way, I can reintroduce impact with a lower volume and strengthen my pelvic floor more before I go ham. I’m not trying to pee myself every time I jump for the rest of my life. π
This morning we headed to our Chiro appt and got to see Dr. Christina! Leighton is still sniffling and I’ve been sucking snot out of her nose with a syringe which is super fun for both of us. π Dr. C did some pressure work on her sinuses to drain them and I caught this super flattering photo to share with you all…

To recover, we did some retail therapy π

When we made it home from our errands, she spent the rest of the afternoon napping. 2 sleep hacks for Leighton babe:
1. Lay her on her side. She takes the LONGEST naps that way.
2. Swaddle her. And not in a soft blanket because she bust out of that in 5 seconds flat. Need that handy dandy Velcro. Then she makes it to at least 5a before a hand breaks free. π
Things L is a fan of: sleeping. Thank you, Jesus. (see exhibit A and B above)
Things L is not a fan of: being cold…and being worn in a baby carrier

Elle kicks her feet so much and tries to wiggle her way out with grunts and fusses anytime I put her in here. π Luckily she only puts up a fight for so long before she eventually gives in and goes to sleep.
Overall, she is such a happy and easy going babe. If she’s not hungry or gassy, she will just lay, squeak, stare and smile!

I love my days with the littlest nugget – but always look forward to when KB comes home! Kensie goes to daycare during the day, but from the second she walks in the door until she goes to bed, she’s pure entertainment.
From “painting” her nails with markers (yes, this is now a daily occurrence) to extremely dramatic Frozen performances, there is never a dull moment.
This next one had me in TEARS from laughing. I shared this on my Instagram but it needs to be documented here so she has it for life…she’s acting out the part of the movie where Anna is sad that Elsa won’t come out and play with her.
Please notice that I had to give her “elsa braids” in between these performances π
After this she’d stand and laugh and say “Alexa, again!!!” She’s gonna crush it in drama class. ππΌ
I’m going to leave you all with this creepy ass photo because I feel like I need to expose more people to what I had to experience today. Can someone please tell Buy Buy Baby this is a TERRIFYING sight to walk up to?!
Okay, maybe it’s just me. But at first glance I legitimately thought someone left their baby in a car seat and walked away. π€·πΌββοΈ π€¦πΌββοΈ I did a double triple take before my heart rate returned to normal! π
